# Vote Clarity — Support Vote Clarity is a free, non-partisan quiz that compares your priorities with the major parties' publicly stated policies, so you can decide for yourself where to vote. This page is here to answer questions and get you help. ## Contact us **Email: pierre@goignite.io** We read every message and aim to reply within two business days. Please tell us which country you were using the app for, and what happened. Vote Clarity is operated by **Go Remote Staff Pty Limited** (ACN 652 207 835), 20 Ash St, Terrigal NSW 2260, Australia. ## Common questions ### The app shows the wrong country The app works out your country when you first open it. If it guessed wrong, tap the country chip at the top of the screen and pick the right one. Your answers are kept per country. ### Where do the party positions come from? Each party is placed on the same scale using its **publicly stated** policies — manifestos, official policy pages, public statements and voting records. Every party is scored by the identical formula, and you can expand any question to see each party's position and our source. ### A party's position looks out of date or wrong Positions are reviewed regularly, but policies move. Email us with the question and the party and we will re-check it against the party's own material. Always verify with the party's official sources before relying on a result. ### How is my match calculated? Your agreement on each question is compared with each party's position on the same five-point scale, weighted by how much you said the issue matters. Topics are weighted equally so a large topic cannot drown out a small one, and a party that has published nothing on half your answers cannot score above half. ### Do you collect my data? Taking the quiz stores nothing on our servers. Only if you separately tick the consent box on the results page and press **Contribute my result** is an anonymous record stored. We never collect your name, email, phone, address, IP address or any account. Full detail is in our [Privacy notice](PRIVACY.md), and our [Terms](TERMS.md) explain the rest. ### I want my contribution removed Contributions carry nothing that identifies you, so we cannot find an individual record to delete — that is a deliberate design choice, and we explain it plainly in the Privacy notice. Clearing the app's data, or deleting the app, removes the device code from your device. If you believe we hold something that does identify you, email us and we will investigate. ### Donations Donating is entirely optional and unlocks nothing — the whole app is free. In the iOS app, donations are handled by Apple as in-app purchases; we never see your payment details. For a refund on an Apple in-app purchase, use Apple's own process at **reportaproblem.apple.com**, as Apple handles the billing. ### Is this app telling me how to vote? No, and it never will. It is an educational guide, is not affiliated with any party, candidate or electoral authority, and summarises complex policies into single positions.
